Couldn't you just eat her up??
The day of halloween we spent the afternoon at my parents. After a really yummy lunch with the fam we put L's costume on and let her show off for everyone. She really enjoyed all of the "Oohing and Ahhhing". :-)
But, all good things must come to and end, and eventually she realized she wasn't so much all about having a huge "cherry with whipped cream" on her head!
That evening we went to Andy and Leanne's and joined some friends for pizza and trick-or-treating. Layne really liked being with all the other kids. It is funny to me how quiet she gets when she is with older kids because I am so used to her being super talkative. When she is around her cousins and their friends she wants to be right by their side doing and watching everything they do...but she is usually pretty quiet. Just taking it all in.
Brayden and Laynie rode in the wagon while the other kids went up to the doors to say trick-or-treat. It only took about 5 houses for Alayna to realize that when the other kids went up to the house they were GETTING something...something that she was not getting! Funny how early that starts :-) Of course she wanted out of the wagon and by then Brayden was signing "all done" as well and wanting out. We tried walking with them for a while but that was a huge failure...after only a few minutes we were at least half a block behind the rest of the group. Jeff, Brayden, L and I ended up heading back and camping out with Leanne to help her pass our candy while the other kiddos finished the route. This was an excellent move as it strategically placed me right next to an endless supply of candy and dark chocolate hot cocoa! Did you even know that exists? Neither did I untill last weekend but let me tell you....it is wonderful! Do you know what else is wonderful? Passing out candy with my genious sister-in-law who hooked up the space heater on her front porch!
Anyways, this is turning out to be a very long post so I will sign off with these final thoughts....
P.S- Pleast note the cupcake shoes..
