Not the Spring Break We Expected...

Our much anticipated trip to Florida ended up being a flop.
Poor Alayna came down with the flu the night that we stayed in Nashville. (Yes, only 12 hours after we left home) She was sick the entire rest of the car ride to Florida and then went downhill from there.  By 3 days in to our trip I was completely worn out and starting to feel sick myself.  I decided to throw in the towel...Laynie and I flew home on Tuesday.

It was a very stressful and sad trip.  I have never seen her that sick and it was really hard to be there without Jeff.  I am however, SO thankful for my parents who were incredibly helpful!

Anyways...we are home now and I feel awful but Laynie, thankfully, is MUCH better.  She is terribly skinny though! When you are just a little thing it is scary what a bad case of the flu can do! We went out for a little bit today and her pants literally fell off her..as in, to her ankles, multiple times! Guess I am going to have to haul some of the smaller clothes out of storage till she puts some of the weight back on!

Here are a few pics from the trip..
Truth be told, I thought about not even posting them because the whole thing was so traumatic (I would rather forget) but hey, for the sake of documentation here they are :)

These are from Katie's birthday dinner which was thankfully one of Laynie's better evenings.

Yummy popcorn shrimp!

Can NOT believe she is 15!

The "inside scream"...
Laynie has a really obnoxious habit of screaming (alot) so my sisters taught her the "inside scream" instead.  They make this face but no noise. Cracks me up!

At the Beach...

How we spent most of our beach time...cuddled up in the shade

She would only sit in the green chair (not the blue or red). I think she knew it matched her suit :)

Not many smiles from this baby

For my friend "B"...baby feet in the sand.
This dear friend of mine showered me with hilarious txts and prayers through the whole ordeal. I am forever indebted.

Last but not least...for real, check out these birds that liked to hang in my g-rents neighborhood.  Yes, these are real..no, this is not a joke.

Creepy right?

O.K, I am off to bed! My sweet husband took L out to dinner and to the park so that I could rest and I am eager to take advantage of it!
