My little baby turned two last week! Two! I can hardly believe it. She is getting to be such a big girl and is growing so much every single day. Her daddy and I love her so much and had a fun day celebrating with her. After morning ball Jeff stopped to pick up our favorite breakfast so we could celebrate a little before he left for work. Of course, Laynie decided she would sleep in that day so Jeff snuck in and woke her up. (He claims she was already awake when he went in but I have my doubts :)
Once Jeff left for work Laynie and I got ready for the day and met up with my good friend Kathryn for a little birthday starbucks date! Laynie's request....I swear...O.k, not really...she had a good time though and loved that people kept asking about her birthday shirt so she could tell them she was two!
After coffee we headed over to visit my mom and sisters. They had a birthday donut for Laynie which she loved! We all sang for her and then she knew to blow on the candle (which wasn't actually lit)..I'm not sure where she picked that up but it was sure cute!
After we had chatted and celebrated a little bit I took off and let Laynie spend a little time with her grandma for her birthday. Or at least that is how I like to word it...the truth is that my mom babysat her (on her bday!!!) which I feel slightly guilty about. I have a pretty darn good reason though. My 20 week ultrasound was that afternoon! Jeff and I had so much fun seeing our little one squirm around and move for us. Everything looked great! Baby is healthy and growing right on track! When I went back to my parents we called my Nanny and Papa down so that I could give Laynie her first B-day gift......
Yup! It's a boy!! We couldn't be more thrilled!! Jeff is already planning out what sports he will compete in. :) More on this later...
(Sidenote: If you are curious why my sisters are in catholic school girl uniforms please follow this link so as to fully understand the dorkiness of my fam. )
Moving on...
That evening we let Laynie choose where she wanted to eat dinner.
(Please note the toddler squirminess/attitude during the filming of this video)
Thinking she is too cool for school with her big girl drink....it seriously rocks to be two!
Working on her letters with dad...
My parents joined us for dinner and we had a great time. Laynie sure loves her Nana and Bapa! Afterwards we all headed back to our place for gifts.
She was whooped by the time it was all said and done but still had a little energy left to show off her newest song. She pretty much learned this in one day because she heard it so many times. Thank you so much to all the family and friends who called to sing for her! She loooved it!!
